Things are changing quickly in the present world. The 3-year degree course in Biotechnology, the most inevitable as well as technology driven subject of the present scenario, was started by our management in order to keep pace with the advancement in the field of life sciences. The Department at its command has a well equipped laboratory with highly sophisticated equipments like PCR, ELISA reader, UV spectrophotometer, gel documentation system, chromatographic apparatus; ferment refrigerated centrifuge, high resolution microscopes, tissue culture laboratory. They provide the students with the best learning experience possible in Biotechnology but also play a role model by undertaking various research programs. A centralized library as well as the department library provides the required backup for literature review and reading. Besides providing the required academic development, the Department also caters to multidimensional personality development through BIO TRIX--the association of the students of biosciences. Along with providing the framework for developing scientific attitude among the students, the Department also imparts the importance of teamwork and makes the students feel the pleasure of working as a team. The Department will wok untiringly until it reaches its destination of becoming a center of excellence in Biotechnology.

The department offers B.Sc. BT from the academic year 2002-2003, M.Sc. BT from the academic year 2006-2007 and M.Phil. BT from the acdemic year 2009-2010.
